Two men meet on stage. They end up in a spiral of humoristic, energising and mesmerising moments. Witty and touching. Maelstrom is a playful, slightly surreal tale where two characters explore the conventions of masculinity in the different ways they engage with each other.
Company Alud can rely on an extensive skillset to blur the boundaries between aerial straps, partner acrobatics, dance and physical theatre. With humor and a dose of courage, Maelstrom presents the audience with an open ended question: what is maculinity? An identity, a hero complex, a language of strength? Does it also offer space for care, sensitivity, and connection? Can it be a mix of all the above, or is it just a label?
