Join a multidisciplinary ritual with hair hangers and choir singers, where MOVEDBYMATTER and Muziektheater transparant collectively bring us in contact with deeper layers of our subconscious. No light without darkness, no forgiveness without betrayal.
Three acrobats are floating high up in the air, strung up on their own hair after an intricate and intimate ritual. Below three choir singers perform polyphonic chants, loosely inspired by the writings of mystics such as Hildegard van Bingen, Sun Bu'er, Mirabai and Rabia al-Basra. Names which vaguely ring a bell, if any, but who were all once overcome by visions, by a spiritual feeling transcending them and which they managed to put to paperr convincingly? Mystica wants to lift this lost undercurrent of female energy from the margins of our historiography and in one and the same movement aim the spotlights on our very own unexplored shadow sides.
