Just before the second edition of MAD Festival, Simon Granit Ossoinak had the opportunity to go into residency at Het Oude Badhuis. There, he put the finishing touches on his show The Odd Ones which pre-premiered during MAD 2024.

What does it mean to belong somewhere? In The Odd Ones, Simon Granit Ossoinak, together with partners in crime Cristian Boscheri and Stasy Terehhova, explores individuality and social dynamics from the perspective of the outsider. All aspects of the peculiar are highlighted: the ugly, unattractive, but also the inspiring and unique.

Three completely different people (an acrobat, a modern dancer, and a breakdancer) with their entirely own ways of communicating and being must slowly find their rhythm in a social and physical dance. In doing so, they learn to understand each other, collaborate, and maybe even enjoy the company of people different from themselves. The performance moves in between beauty and repulsion, humor and vulnerability, always with a healthy dose of peculiarity.

As the culmination of 10 days of residency, The Odd Ones had its pre-premiere in a sold-out venue at Het Oude Badhuis on April 12.
